The approach began with understanding the deep emotional ties the family held to the original home, particularly their late father’s legacy. Careful façade enhancements preserved the structure’s recognizable silhouette while refining its materiality for a more modern, tropical expression — blending timber, stone, and light-textured renders to age gracefully in the humid climate.
A new swimming pool, expansive deck, and garden terraces were integrated into the backyard, designed to weave effortlessly into the natural surroundings rather than dominate them.
An additional suite was built for the youngest son and his future wife, balancing privacy and connection through a series of courtyards and planted edges.
The project unfolded over 12 months, not simply as a renovation, but as a careful, heartfelt renewal—rooted in family, nature, and respect for the passing of time.
